We have five kids between the ages of 3 and 12 and the WOW Scope is extremely user friendly for these ages. While our youngest two kids need assistance, the three oldest are able to independently utilize the WOW Scope. The included specimens are really neat and get kids off on the right foot. Once they see how cool it is to look through the scope and see things their naked I can’t, they get excited to look for even more samples to view.
Definitely a user friendly microscope and we’d recommend it.

The World of Wonder (Wow) Scope by My First Lab is an amazing microscope – perfect for ages 9 and up. This is the best microscope for 3D objects and they even won the Creative Child Product of the Year Award in 2016! That is just how good this is! This My First Lab Wow Scope has everything you expect out of a good microscope and it comes with five specimens to begin with as well as a slide carrying case and an experiment guide. My son is 17 and autistic. He is always into building things, asking the how and the why of everything. Although he is a bit older he functions at around 9 years old so this is perfect for him. I haven’t shown it to him yet – this will be a gift for Christmas and he will be over the moon! I am sure he will be picking up all kinds of specimens at the barn to check out with all the other kids. It is lightweight and has top and bottom LED lights for solid objects and prepared slides. Complete with glass optics and 10x and 25x eyepieces for up to 50x magnification! It only needs 2 AA batteries to get started – it is also perfect for a classroom and since my husband and I both work in education this is great to know. I can easily see my son starting with hay and comparing it to haystretcher – how different do they look under a microscope and why? Or what about when a horse gets sick? Although it may be a little gross, I can see him inspecting everything to do with an illness and trying to isolate common denominators. When Tuft’s comes for a sick horse he is always there asking a million questions.

This is a great microscope for children interested in science! It is easy to use and comes with few parts for easy set up. My seven year old loves looking at things, up close and personal! The 5 included specimens got him started but he’s been looking at things around the house and from the outdoors too. **I received a complementary product in exchange for my review, but all opinions are mine!

WOW is right! We’ve had microscopes before, but none quite as cool as this one. My kids love to “science” everything they find, and sometimes those objects don’t lend themselves to traditional microscope slides. The WOW scope solves that because you can view 3D objects right through the microscope, which means you can “science” all day long and really observe the world up close. The learning opportunities are endless!

Ok, this microscope is awesome! From my 7-yr-old to my 12-yr-old, they were both literally saying, “Wow!”. This makes a terrific gift from the grandparents because it is something they can enjoy doing together! It is very easy to set up and you can start using as soon as you add batteries. We started with the included specimens but were quickly looking at everything from coins to fingerprints to strands of our hair! Very happy we got this because it’s a learning tool without being a boring tool!

My 10- and 12-year-old daughters love this microscope. The Duo-lens was the way to go for us. We love the quality of this piece. It’s great that it comes with some of its own specimen samples, but we love that you can inspect and learn about your own samples, too! It’s very simple for kids to adjust the eyepieces so they can each see as they are taking turns. I’m really impressed with the quality of the World of Wonder (Wow) Scope by My First Lab.
